I started writing as early as six years old. As a child, I wrote countless short stories and found comfort in escaping my own world and reality through storytelling. It was a little embarrassing at times—especially when I was caught acting out scenes—but looking back, it was all part of my creative process.
Over the years, I worked hard to hone my skills and fully embrace my identity as a writer. I'm no longer afraid to share my work. While I once feared the criticism that comes with putting your stories out into the world, I’ve learned to rise above it and keep going.
My debut book, Big Family High School, was released in 2022 and published through Jason Eaglespeaker. It didn’t sell very well and didn’t gain much attention, but it was a starting point—one that taught me valuable lessons.
After that, I wrote something much more personal: my memoir about life in foster care, titled A Heart of Mine. This was by far the hardest book I’ve ever written. It took me seven years to complete—I started it in 2016 and released it in 2023. I was terrified of how people would react, and whether I’d get in trouble for exposing the harsh realities of a broken system. But it needed to be told.
Later that same year, I released my first LGBTQ+ fiction book, The Recital of Terrance Reed. It was unapologetically bold and proudly gay, and it marked a turning point in my storytelling voice.
Back in 2018, I scribbled a short note about an idea involving Little People. I had the concept in my mind but couldn’t find the right story for it—at least not right away. Then, in 2022, I began shaping that idea into what would become Jaxwell and The Little People. I first introduced it to Richard Van Camp, who noticed how much the 2022 version had changed compared to the 2025 revision. Truthfully, the story went through more than ten rewrites and countless updates.
When Jaxwell and The Little People failed to make a single sale, I nearly gave up. But with the help of TikTok and the support I found through it, I kept going—and from that struggle, the Arcadian Realm series was born.
The Arcadian Realm Series:
Jaxwell and The Little People
Jaxwell and The World Left Behind
Jaxwell and The Prism of Two Souls
Jaxwell and The Crystal Heart
This is the series I’ve been pouring my heart into for the past four years. Trust me—I’m giving it everything I’ve got. I’m climbing this hill, and I’m not stopping until I reach the top.
